The Qatari government has revealed that it is developing five new tourist destinations ahead of the FIFA World Cup. The country that will welcome over 1.2 million tourists from all over the world during the mega sporting event wants to showcase the cultural heritage of the country.

These new developments include Winter Wonderland, a 49-acre hub north of Doha. Apart from offering the visitors a chance to relax on the beach, it will have seafront chalets, restaurants, and rides. This property will be managed by the International Marketing Group (IMG), which also manages Hyde Park in London.

Other destinations include the Fuwairit Kite Beach in the coastal village of Fuwairit, which will have amenities such as a yoga studio, gym, restaurants, and pool, and the Outpost Al Barari, a luxury resort that will host desert walks to spread awareness about the local wildlife.

In Qetaifan Island North, a massive water park having 36 different rides spread over approximately 14 million square feet is being developed as well. It is close to the Lusail Stadium – the venue for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022’s final game.

Lastly, the West Bay North Beach is a 430,556 square feet beachfront constructed in Doha, including public and private beach areas with multiple F&B outlets.

Many resorts and attractions have been recently unveiled, including Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park, and a theme park called Quest Doha to attract tourists to the wealthiest country in the region.

Apart from these amusement and recreational places, the government is looking to ensure that tourists have ample places to stay when they visit the country during the football tournament. The government is converting a couple of luxury cruises into floating hotels to facilitate over 9,400 people.
