Hybrid working improves UAE employees’ performance: Cisco Study
The CISCO report shows that offering greater flexibility at the workplace positively impacted the quality of work and productivity.
The latest Cisco Hybrid Work Report, looking into the impact of remote and hybrid work setup, reveals that most employees credited hybrid work more for improving their quality of work. Almost two-thirds of employees have stated that flexibility in the working environment has resulted in increased productivity.
The study finds that 90% of employees in the UAE are either working remotely or have adopted a hybrid working environment – which is in line with the global work numbers, where 91% percent of employees were found to be working in a hybrid mode.
The Cisco Hybrid Work Report examines the impact of digitization and hybrid work on performance, productivity, quality of work, new skills, and growth. It had 1050 people from the region responding to various questions focused on the impact of the hybrid workplace on well-being and readiness across a variety of factors impacting the employer and employees, such as company culture, technology, and cybersecurity as well as financial; physical; mental well-being and more.
It showed that over 67% of participants felt that the quality of work had improved, while 86% thought they could find enough time to learn new skills, which helped them grow and succeed in their roles.Ā
The study also revealed that the companies in the UAE and their employees in the country or across the globe are better prepared to carry out operations in case of another pandemic outbreak. Over 79% of employees felt they no longer depend on being in the office to perform their jobs.
Further, employers are more confident in empowering their employees to perform their duties regardless of their physical location. They are now open to offering resources and technologies that allow people to work remotely and stay connected.
āThe traditional model that required employees to follow a strict timetable set out by employers has now changed. In todayās UAE workplace, employees are defining hybrid work, which has resulted in benefits for both employer and employees,ā said Reem Asaad, vice-president of Cisco Middle East and Africa.
He added that this studyās findings show that āemployees are far more comfortable as a hybrid workforce, and companies should take note and adapt accordingly ā both from a technology and cultural readiness perspective. After all, they will be the ones to benefit through higher staff performance.ā
