Three companies ā€“ Sabic, Injaz UAE, and JA worldwide ā€“ have come together to help youth in Saudi Arabia become community leaders and global citizens.Ā

Under this initiative, more than 700 Sabic volunteers will deliver in-person and virtual programs focused on science and technology, environmental protection, health and wellness, and water and sustainable agriculture. This activity is being carried out under Sabicā€™s Lights of Our Future initiative along with Injaz UAE and 13 independent JA locations.

A Sabic volunteer, Anbupathy Umapathy, said, ā€œThe level of awareness this program creates among youngsters is really appreciated. It makes the students think outside the box.ā€

The program will not only train students with life skills like critical thinking but will also help develop problem-solving skills for sustainable living. The volunteers look to ā€œteach, coach, and mentor students to become workforce ready, interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and motivated to improve their communities.ā€

While these training programs are locally driven, they include JA Worldwideā€™s global learning experiences, including JA Career Success and JA More than Money.

The JA Career Success tries to inculcate skills that employers often look for in candidates. It also helps students develop essential job hunting tools like resumes, cover letters, digital profiling, and interviewing techniques.

On the other hand, JA More than Money offers students financial literacy. It prepares students to deal better with situations like financial difficulties during a Covid-19- like a pandemic, making them aware of wiser spending and saving habits.
